The Dallas Kiyari Daiko Group was organized in 1992, after Mr. Yoshikazu Fujimoto, leader of the famous Kodo Taiko Group from Sado, Japan, presented a workshop at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Since Dallas Kiyari Daiko's formation eleven years ago, the members meet once a week to practice and enjoy the powerful beat, rhythm and movements of this traditional style of music.

The Dallas Kiyari Daiko Group performs for civic organizations, schools, and businesses in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The reaction from audiences has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic. Each member of Kiyari is pleased to be able to share Japanese culture with the communities of North Texas through the exciting musical medium of the Taiko beat.
