Student test their Air Modem.

Email (combine 7.2 & 7.3) results of Error Rate Table (can copied to excel and attached) to instructor.

Explore and Test

Adjust the transmission rate on one and observe the error rate on the receiver.

Email (combine 7.2 & 7.3) summary of the effects of  varying transmission rates (up and down) to instructor.

Change the character to letter mappings, observe what happens.

 
 

Music Receiver

Adapt a design to a related problem

This is a simple extension of the 1 tone per letter receiver to build a worksheet that receives music.

Multi-Tone Audio Communication of Text

Explore, Design and Build

Type a short message on the transmitter keyboard and send it. Listen to the tones representing the characters.

"Tune" the receiver frequencies in class and fill in the table. Email table results (can be done in excel) of results to instructor.

Demo

Communication with More Characters

Explore 

Set up the audio communication demonstration and select the optional larger character set including upper case characters. Use the different methods to send a message with the larger character set.

 

Compare the time it takes to send the message using each method. Send an email to instructor.
