Alright, so you know what a zombie is, what it does, and where you will live. But how will you defend yourself. Time to lock n' load.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Types of Guns and Their Effectiveness

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

The Handgun: The handgun is vital part of your zombie-slaying lifestyle. The handgun is compact, easy-to-find, and deadly. However, it should not be your primary weapon. Rather, it should be a backup. Handguns are numerous in America, so it will be easy to obtain one. Ammo is plentiful. These can be used as a quick defence, as if a zombie almost has its teeth to your body, you can easily squeeze a pistol up to the head and fire. Pistols are not known for their accuracy or range. Take this into consideration when you look for a pistol:

Revolvers: Easy to load, plentiful ammo, powerful, low ammo capacity, good stopping power, medium range, high accuracy.

Semi-automatics: Hard to load, plentiful ammo, medium to high ammo capacity, medium to low stopping power, short range, mediocre accuracy.

Semi-automatics have more variety and can squeeze off more shots, but it sacrifices accuracy and range for this. Revolvers are accurate and have a good range, but it requires more loading.

The Sub-Machine Gun: SMG's (Sub-Machine Gun) are optional in your arsenal. These are very practical for fighting human targets, but have not too much effectiveness against zombies. If you wish to use one, keep it on semi-automatic AT ALL TIMES. However tempting it may be to flick the switch and "rock n' roll", do not use automatic. It is an easy way to waste ammo and to not kill a zombie. Keep it to semi-automatic and aim for the head. These carry a lot of ammo in their clips, though, so if kept on semi, it makes a great short-medium range firearm.

The Machine Gun: Machine guns are useless. Their only purpose is when mounted as a base-defense turret. They waste ammo. They have a small chance of hitting the head. Do not even try the "Sycthe" tactic. This is when you mow down a horde by just firing into it. All this does is make immobile zombies and crawlers. This will still not work even if you put the gun at head-level. Humans have different sizes and shapes. DO NOT use the Machine Gun.

Shotgun: This is a close-range killer. Shotguns have been popularized in many Zombie films, and do live up to some of them. A 12-gauge would literally blow the head right off of a zombie if used at five feet. Shotguns using buckshot can be used at close-range to knock down a tight group of zombies, giving you time to sneak past or escape. Slugs make them like rifles and are useful for small groups of zombies. A good shotgun would be the Remington 870. If you attach a bayonet, you have yourself a short-range death machine. However, shotguns have at six bullets in their chamber, so reloading can be constant. It also takes a certain amount of time to load. However, these can be countered by the fact that you only need to put in one bullet to start again. Remember to use each shot wisely. Use pump-action rather than a high-tech automatic shotgun.

The Rifle: The rifle is possibly the most important part of your armory. A rifle can be long-range, have a high ammo capacity, and be easy to use. However, discard some types. An assault rifle is okay (Rules to sub-machine guns apply), but a black-powder rifle is not going to last you ten minutes. For a long-range to medium-range rifle, get a Gewher 43. It is reliable and useful. If you want somethng for closer combat, go for a M1 Carbine. This has good accuracy, lightweight ammo (You can carry more), and has a high capacity. These are both WW2 models, but I selected them because of their reliability and effectivity. Lever-Action and Bolt-Action are very accurate, conserve ammo, and pack a punch. Use a rifle whenever you can.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAccessories

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Accessories are a vital part of your arsenal. These can turn the tide if used correctly.

Silencer: This is vital for fleeing in secret. Instead of attracting all zombies within the vicinity by a single, necessary shot, you can kill more with a simple silencer.

Red Dot Sight: Good for those who are new to guns. How hard is it to put a dot on a forehead? Remember that it has batteries.

Night Sight: Essential for night sniper missions. Has batteries.

Extended Clips: A must-have if you are required to kill a good amount of zombies.

Dual Magizines: Makes it easier to reload in the middle of a firefight.

Telescopic Sight: Works like a Night Scope except that it is used for day-time missions. It's just a basic scope with no batteries.

Batteries: You require batteries for some accessories. Remember to use rechargable batteries or else you will run out of them very quickly.
