aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Blades Don't need Reloading.

Melee weapons will be the easiest weapons to craft and to scavenge from the post-apocalyptic world. You could fashion a spear out of a broomhandle or a knife out of a piece of rusty metal. A gun needs reloading. You could keep on fighting until you get tired. However, these require much more skill than putting a bead on a forehead. You have to connect a moving object to a smaller moving object. There are three types;

Blades: Very quiet and efficient. These just need occasional sharpening. The only way to kill zombies with blades is to stab zombies through the eye-socket, or to cut off their head (The head is still alive and can bite you). However, there are three different sub-types:

Knives: Small, compact and useful for close encounters. You must stab them through the eye-socket. Ceramic knives are useful for killing and cutting food.

One-Handed Blades: Not as good as two-handed, but these can be used for holding a pistol in one hand and a blade in the other (This requires an incredible amount of skill). Do not discount these, as you can search while holding a weapon, which may turn out to be a life-saver. Good ones include the Roman Gladius and the Machete.

Two-Handed Blades: The most practical of all the blades. These provide enough power to decapitate a head and enough length to ensure a kill. For two different examples of shining stars, look at the Russian Tulwar and the Japanese Katana.

Blunts: The advantage is that there are literally thousands of these. The disadvantage is that there is only one way to kill. CRUSH THAT BRAIN! Crush the skull in any way possible. Uppercuts, Cave-ins, etc. However, on rotting zombies, hitting them on the side of the head will knock it clean off. Although there are no types, there are "categories".

Crowbars: Useful for anything. Can be used to break boxes, doors, and skulls. Obviously is the best blunt weapon out there.

Sports Sticks: Cannot break skulls and will bend after hitting a head.

Bats: These are very useful improvised weapons. Wooden bats will break and are heavier, so aluminum bats are your best bet. However, aluminum bats will eventually bend.

Power Tools: USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESS. Their power cells need constant refreshing and are heavy, they generate enough noise to attract an entire block's zombie population, and in the hands of an inexperienced person, they will kill themself. These include chainsaws, power drills, and buzzsaws. To a human, this says: "COOL!" To a zombie, this says: "Dinner is served!"
